It would appear to me to be an open-and-shut matter that the Dorothy Heidel who may be "sought" as a material witness of this shooting would have been the daughter of George & Jessie Heidel found in Montebello Township of Los Angeles County, CA in the 1930 US Census. I place George Heidel to have maybe once lived in California, Moniteau County, Missouri, in 1880, but possibly not since his 1930 age was 4 years off from that otherwise known for from Missouri. This otherwise would have made him a likely cousin to a George Heidel most likely found in Geary County, Kansas. So maybe George did not up and leave California, Missouri for the real thing sometime after 1900. He was recorded as a Railroad Bridge Builder in the 1930 US Census.
