Thanx James!

In the last couple of days you've really boosted my knowledge about my family from the Colonies... Thank you very much.
The one item I couldn't verify which you referenced was that my family emigrated from Germany in 1878?? I checked passenger lists out of germany from 1868 thru 1879, I just couldn't find em... I'm sure they came in the 70s as they show up in the 1880 census but I couldnt find them in the 1870 census. I think they all came at the same time, Johann Gottlieb Heidel the father and widower, and children, Ida Emma, Louis Richard, Anna Marie, Franz Ernst, Wilhelmine Lina, and Emilie Milda.., whatever lists I was looking at must not have been a complete listing.
Anyway I've learned a lot. I also learned my grandfather had a younger brother Emil at 15 yrs old who was killed accidently in 1912 while hunting in the colonies!
Thanx again!
