James, Thanks for your effort. Yes I use, but there is no connection shown between Philip T. Heidle, born 1815 in Virginia, to any other Heidle/Hidle/Heidel in Virginia or Germany in their records. I have no information about how many generations of his family were born in America before him. The only link in the chain I can work on at this point is to find evidence of who Philip T. Heidle's parents are and then work back to the immigrant who may possibly originate in Germany. It's counter-productive to try to start searching Heidels in Germany and work forward hoping to connect.
