George,

My grgrandmother was Nancy Catherine McDonald (1824-1908),
the oldest daughter/second child of Daniel McDonald of Jasper Co., MS. There is a great controversy over her maternal parentage. Daniel McDonald married twice: first to Harriet Carroll and later to Harriet Heidelberg b.1808, daughter of Thomas Christian Heidelberg. We have a deed of gift from Thomas Heidelberg, 1831, that describes a gift of a slave girl to his grandchilden Francis Marion b.1820 and Nancy Catherine b. 1824 McDonald.

In the Heidelberg book to which mother are these children ascribed?
