I am researching Heidelbergs of Jasper County, MS. I am particularly looking for information about Franklin Chris Heidelberg. He is listed as Chris Heidelberg on the 1880 Jasper County Census.
Chris Heidelberg, mulatto, male age 28, head
Ann Heidelberg, mulatto, female, age 26, wife
Laura Heidelberg, mulatto, female, age 8, daughter
Mary A. Heidelberg, mulatto, female, age 6, daughter
Lou A. Heidelberg, mulatto, female, age 4, daughter
Henry C. Heidelberg, mulatto, female, age 9 mos., son
Hall, Melinda, black, female, age 40, --
Hall, Liza, mulatto, female, age 14, daughter
Hall, Billy, mulatto, male, age 9, son
Page, Minerva, black, female, age 28, --
Page, Cora, black female, age 7, daughter
Page, Nelson, black male, age 4, son
Page, Dicy, black female, age 4 mos.

Melinda Hall and Minerva Page were born in South Carolina. The rest of the members of this household were all born in Mississippi. Ann was a sister to my great grandmother, Lucy Ainsworth, who was the daughter of Sampson Ainsworth and his concubine, Martha.

By 1900, Chris was called Frank or Franklin and living in Perry County which became Forrest County by the 1910 enumeration.
