I have a Thecla also spelled Teckla Rotter Heider in my line from Tes, Veszprem, Austria Hungary.Based on deduction I am guessing that she was born about 1759.I only have her death date as Oct. 8, 1809. She married Franciscus Haider. No marriage date found yet. I also have the names and birthdates of six children found on microfilm.
The name Tekla is unusual. I found it in a text of translated dead sea scrolls as the name of a female prophetess who was said to have followed Jesus.Out of curiosity I would like to know more about the name's origin and popular use.Let me know what you think.
