Hi, Norma Jean

I also am interested in the Heitmans of Missouri. John Heitman and Johannah Johnson are my great grandparents but I know little about them. My mother was the daughter of their daughter, Hannah. Hannah married Christopher Binggeli and they had five children. In 1910, I now believe because Christopher may have died, Hannah put the four oldest children in the Children's Home Society of Missouri for adoption. She took the youngest, Charles, to a place in St. Joseph. Mother was five at the time and was immediately adopted by a lovely young couple and had a wonderful life. I have the adoption records for all four children if any are interested. I did not learn until I was in college that Mother was adopted which came as quite a surprise. Now I have become curious as to my biological ancestry.

There seem to be others also interested in this branch of the Heitman tree.

I notice that John Heitman is listed as being born in several different places: Germany, Denmark, Holland and Switzerland. Does anyone have documented information to confirm where he was born or Johannah as well?

Thank you for any information you can supply.

Miriam Archibald
