I've hit a brick wall with my husband's grandfather, Joseph Heitman(n). We have seen the name spelled with 1 n, and again with 2 n's. On my husband's father's birth certificate, the name is spelled with 2 n's. The certificate gives no other information about who his parents were, etc. We have a census record stating that he emigrated to the US in 1895, but we cannot find any record or other family members that know anything about this. He and his wife, Mary Duensing lived in Kirkwood, St. Louis County, Missouri. They had 2 sons, Joseph Jr. and Harvey Francis. They both lived their entire lives in Kirkwood, MO. Joseph married Lucille. They did not have children. Harvey Francis had 2 marriages. We don't know when he married his first wife, or her name. His second wife, Ruth Matilda Wagner, also from Kirkwood. Harvey and Ruth had 4 children, Harvey John, Robert Joseph, Catherine Ann and James Stephen. Harvey John is my husband.

We are pursuing any and all spelling variations on the name. Any help you could send our way would be appreciated.

Kathy Heitman
