Looking for info about the Charles (or Carl) Heitmann family who immigrated to Milwaukee, WI, about 1864 from either Prussia or Pommern, Germany. The elder Charles or Carl was married to Sophia Stoedefalke. They had several children, one of whom was Charles Heitmann, married to Johanna Witt (my great grandparents). I'm trying to find out exactly where they came from and family roots in Germany. A message on this board from Mary Henry a couple years ago seems to be asking for info I have about the family in this country. Unfortunately, her email address is no longer in use.
