Hoping to get a reply, even though your post is about a year old now......

I believe that Mary HARGETT was the daughter of Henry Hargett and Anna Charity Broom. I had some old information that her husband was a HELMS, but didn't have a given name for him. Both the spelling HELMS and HELLUMS are found in early Mecklenburg Co., NC census records, always living near my HARGETT family. My ancestor was John M. HARGETT, also a son to Henry and Anna HARGETT, and I am wondering if his first wife could also have been a HELMS/HELLUMS? I have seen Elaine Hendricks' work, but she doesn't list parents/siblings for Mary HARGETT on-line. John M. HARGETT and his 2nd or maybe 3rd wife (Sarah WINDHAM) both died in Tishomingo Co., MS (I think - no cememtery records yet). His family is found on the 1840 Franklin Co., AL census, and by 1850 in Tishomingo where he is listed as 74 years old b. NC. Part of Tishomingo County was used in forming Prentiss Co., MS.

All help appreciated,
