Caroline Helton/James Medlin/Mack Crane
Researching my great-Grandmother Wealthy Caroline Helton, daughter of John and Hannah Helton.
The 1850 District 2, Grainger county, TN Census lists the Helton family as follows.
John Helton, born 1818 in TN
Hannah Helton, born 1821 in TN
Wealthy C. Helton, born 1838 in TN
Vally A. Helton, born 1840 in TN
Margaret A. Helton, born 1843 in TN
Sarah A. Helton, born 1844 in TN
John A. Helton, born 1847 in TN
Jesse W. Helton, born 1848 in TN
Caroline married James W. Medlin, married 14 May 1853 by WM A. Harris, J.P. Joesph P. Williams was listed as bondsman. James and Caroline had the following children: John B. Medlin, born 1854, Jesse W. Medlin, born 1859 and Willy C. Medlin, born 1863.
James Medlin died 1963 while serving in the Cival War and is buried in Petersburg Virginia. His brother, Joesph is also buried in the Poplar Lawn Cemetery in the Confederate Section.
Caroline married Mack Crane after James Medlin's death and moved to Mcminn county, TN.
I would like to know the date of Caroline's death and where she was buried also would like to have photo's of the Helton family to share with my children & grandchildren.
I ws raised in an orphanage in Charleston, SC and have no knowledge of my family, I would like to pass on the family history to my family.
Thanks for any information and photo's you may have to share. I am 70 years of age and live in the state of Washington.
