Now, Prussia is a province. I found out, that the Hellwigs came from the town of medebach, which is located southeast of dortmund in the ruhr area. My grandparents came from there. Nowadays, we have many hellwigs in this town and some more on the graveyard. Hope to get some more informations on the hellwig famila in USA. There are some prenames in the family, which are used very often, for example Heinrich/Henry and Johannes. Thias family likes catholic prenames.
