I hope you get this! Joy is my great grandfathers daughter so we are in the same family! Christoph (Christopher) Helwig who is my GGGreat grandfather was your Josephs brother. There was also a sister Emily who married Adam Holle, a sister Wilhemina who maried a Brandt and I believe there may have been another brother named Peter. Joseph and Marie Witt had at least two boys, Charles and William. So....really as the crest shows the Helwigs came from Transylvania to Germany, then many left Germany at the same time to go to the U.S., Canada and Jamaica where our family is from. The use of the same family names over and over again is interesting, as well as the large number of children Helwig's seemed to have, often 11-14! We are all from only one family line, all related. Pretty interesting!
