Hi Frederick! I am looking at wriiten notes ( I must not have had printer ink!) and I have this Joseph down as possible brother, could be a cousin but I feel a coonnection because of a few thongs. Though the Joseph I found lived in Gutzkow, he was from Essen. I show a wife named Marie Charlotte Witt. He is perhapse old enough to be Christophers father, but I would then believe that Christopher would have been in the U.S. not Jamaica. I believe the birthdate of this Joseph was March 22, 1825. I don't think this was his marriage date (hope not, then he could be the father!). He is listed in the U.S. census in 1868 as a stonemason. With his first or second wife Marie, he had a son named Charles. A third wife is listed named Augusta. They had a son William. Can the names repeat any more?
On this same night I noted a possible name for Christopher's father which was 'Michael". I believe I was going through German records but it must have been late and I got tired! What was I thinking?
Maybe you can follw this line of info too. Two minds are better than one!
