Check the Helvey family forum. I posted an item there and received a lot of info from "cousins". Carlen's will was probated in Lancaster County, PA, in 1765 (not sure if under the German or the anglicized form of his name, Charles Helvey). I descend from Carlen's granddaughter (Catherine Helvey), who married one of my Barron ancestors (Joseph). By that time my line was in Virginia -- places like Wythe and Lee counties.

Good luck.
