I am looking at the James Henderson family of Union Co. GA.
James is 21 in the Union Co. 1850 census, and the head of the household is his mother, Jane. She is 46 so that puts her birthday about 1804. I don't know her maiden name, nor do I know her husband's first name.
This is the 1850 census listing:
Jane Henderson 46 Head
James 21 Son
Ibeline 19 Daughter
Thomas 17 Son
There is living next door a William Henderson who is 24 and is married to Angeline who is also 24. William is also Jane's son.
The 1860 census lists James, Thomas and William Henderson, and it states that they were all born in Tennessee. By this time, William has 2 children with Angeline, and mother Jane is living with them. James has married Mary Ann (Polly) Partin and Thomas is married to Margaret(??)
As we all know the census records only record the head of the household in 1840 and earlier. So I have no idea which of the Henderson men in the 1840 census is the husband of Jane.
I have found 3 possible marriages listed in GA that could match this couple.
They are:
Jane Allen m. Charles Henderson 22 Jan 1828
Jane L. Beavers m. James C. Henderson 16 January 1823
Jane Pharr m. Samuel Henderson 5 May 1821
