Do you know if your ancestor was decended from the Rev. Matthew of Washington Co Pa? I have a feeling that my line came with Irish roots somehow. They were in Fayette Co Pa until 1854 and then came straight to Putnam Co IL. This is where Rev. Matthew Henderson of Washinton Co Pa.'s grandson Rev. George Henderson is a preacher. Rev. George Henderson spent some time in Muskingom Co Ohio before coming to Putnam IL but he was there when my ancestor Uriah Henderson arrived. However I can't find any direct connection between the Rev. Hendersons and my ancestor. The only names I have in connection to my henderson are Boyd. There was a Boyd lady living with my Uriah Henderson family at Fayette Pa in 1850. She was born in Ireland. She did not come to Il with the family. Another possibility is that my Uriah Henderson is somehow connected to the Stewart Henderson family of Fayette Pa. Some of Stewarts sons/grandsons came to Knox Co IL but didn't settle in or near Putnam like Uriah and the Rev George Henderson did. I also found that Rev. George Henderson's name appeared on a land doc of my ancestor Uriah's at Putnam but that's all I have is that they somehow each owned the piece of land at some time. I would doubt it was a fluke but I have nothing to prove otherwise. Do you know if you belong to either Stewart Henderson's family of Dunbar Fayette Pa or Rev. Matthew Henderson's family of Washington Co Pa. Both have possibilities of a connection with my Uriah Henderson family.
Hope this doesn't scare you off. Give me a little more background on where your line spent time in Ohio and any surnames or such you think might be important.
Thanks so much for your message. It gives me hope that I might stumble upon my ancestor connection yet.
