Pg 94, The People with No Name: Ireland's Ulster Scots, America's Scots Irish, and the Creation of a British Atlantic World, 1689-1764, by Patrick Griffin:
. . . Ulster merchants, such as Daniel Mussenden [of Belfast], contracted with shipmasters to underwrite the feeding and transportation of prospective [indentured] servants in return for a significant profit. In 1729 [29 May], Mussenden agreed to pay for the passage of thirty-two men, obliging the master of the Bruerton, John Fowler, to pay Mussenden £100 on his return. Any profit Fowler realized on the sale of the thirty-two on arrival he was free to keep. The contract obliged Fowler to "safely land the said servants in Philadelphia or Pennsylvania . . . and in no other place, the dangers of the seas excepted." If Fowler failed to do so, he was liable to Mussenden for £200.
