Hi from Germany!

Im not absolutely sure about the origin of "Henke", but Im 1000% sure that it has got nothing to do with the German word "Henker" (Hangman).
I know that it is a very old surename. One theory I heard about is that it has the same origins as the Christian name "Henry". It may come from a word that means "bright fire".

Please let me know when you get further information...

Ciao, Kerstin Yvonne Henke, Germany
