The HEINKE family is said to have moved to Wanatah, IN from Chicago in 1900. Otto Heinke ran the blacksmith shop in Wanatah. Otto's father, Louis Heinke, was born in Germany 22 Feb. 1832 and died in Wanatah.
Otto HEINKE and Adelia Pietsch were married in 1895; these are the known children:

Minnie Heinke       1896?
William Heinke       1898 - 1927
Viola C. Heinke       1902 - 1993
Carl Heinke       1904 - 1930
Bernhart Heinke       1907 - 1984

Daughter Minnie married a DILLOWAY and lived in MI. Son, William, married Cleo Richardson. Adelia died in 1943. Her obituary named these add'l descendants: W. R. Heinke of Barksdale, LA; Mrs. Richard Larive of Roscommon, MI; and Norma Jean Heinke of Gary, IN.

Anyone desiring add'l information could email me or contact the Wanatah Historical Society, P. O. Box 156, Wanatah, IN 46390.

P.S. Posting this to help others; I'm not related, but have limited information from a great-aunt who was a life-long friend of the daughter, Viola.
