In Reply to: Surname Origin by Henricus Johannes Henkes of 281

My Grandfathers name was Johannes Jacobus Peterus Henkes. He brought his family to the US in 1957. He was from Den Haag Holland. Or at least that is where my mother was born. One thing I have also noticed is that a lot of the first and middle names end in "us." I do not know the origin of this name. Through my research of the surname Henkes I keep getting lead to two Jews one in Germany and one in Poland.

email me if you gain any more info.

John Fisher
