My father was Alvin Ervin Ernst Henning, b. 2/21/1908 in Menominee, Wisconsin. To the best of my knowledge at this point, his father, Albert, was born 1/8/1880, where, I do not know. His father, also Albert, was born 8/18/1853 in Pommern, Germany. His father was Johann Henning. My father's grandfather was married to Ulricke Kruger, b. 5/3/1853 in Seger Pommern, Germany. My father's greatgrandfather, Johann, was married to Caroline Gutz.My grandfather Albert (my Dad's Dad) had a brother named Frank, about whom I really know nothing, except that his wife's name was Rose, who was the sister of my grandfather Albert's wife, Matilda (brothers married sisters). The sisters' maiden name was Sell.My father's cousin, Irving Henning, told me that we Hennings are not really German, however, we are Danish. He says that during the 30-year war way back many Danish people were taken prisoners and when the long war was over simply did not go back to Denmark.
