Laura,
It's good to hear someone else is interested in Charles and the Henning's from Scott County, Iowa. For your info, I believe we are second cousins once removed as Charles is my Great Grandfather. Charles Henning
Charles Henning, 80, a resident of Davenport and Scott county the greater part of his life, died at 2 a.m. Saturday at a sanitarium at 828 Vine street. Death followed a three months' illness.
Born in Boston, Mass., May 24, 1856, he came to Davenport with his parents when he was a child. He married Miss Elizabeth Frisch in Rock Island in 1886 and the couple farmed in Scott county until retiring 15 years ago. His wife preceded him in death in 1928.
Surviving are five sons, Carl, Edward, William and Ernest of Davenport, and Elmer of California; two daughters, Mrs. John Kluever and Miss Lulu Henning of Davenport; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Otto of McCausland and Louis and Fred Henning of Clinton county, and one sister, Mrs. John Helble of Princeton, Ia.
The body was removed to the Fred W. Ruhl funeral home, and this afternoon will be taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kluever, 3705 Rockingham road. Funeral services will he held there at 2:30 p.m. Monday, and burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.

Henning
Charles Henning, a resident of Davenport practically his entire life, died at 2 a.m. today at a sanitarium at 828 Vine street, Davenport, after a three months illness.
The decedent was born May 24, 1853, in Boston, Mass., and came to Davenport with his parents when a child. He was engaged in farming in Scott county and retired 15 years ago. In 1886 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Frisch in Rock Island. His wife preceded him in death in 1928.
Surviving are five sons, Carl, Edward, William and Ernest of Davenport and Elmer of California; two daughters, Mrs. John Kluever and Miss Lulu Henning, both of this city; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Otto of McCausland and Louis and Fred Henning of Clinton county, and one sister, Mrs. John Lelble of Princeton, Ia.
