Hi Donald, I have been able to trace my HENSEL ancestors to Johann Theobald (Diebold) HENSEL b. about 1659 in Heltersberg, d. 1726 in Stelzenberg. He was the S. of Nikolaus HENSEL & Anna Margaretha ??Johann Theobald
married on 8.7.1688 Anna Catharina SCHMALEN-
BERGER; their S. Johann Michael Heinrich H.,
b. 20.6.1691 married on 26.1.1717 in Tripp-
stadt Anna Maria HUBER, and their S. Johann
Phillip H., b. 5.5.1733 continued my line of
ancestors. There is a very slim chance that
they're related to yours.
Johann Conrad HENSEL b. 1673, who moved from that region to the town of Kallstadt, could have been a brother or cousin of my Johann
Theobald. His S. Johann Lorenz H. could be the father of your Johann Michael b. 1723.
With regard to the letter from Mr. von Frank
of Austria, since that letter is almost 40 years old, may I rather suggest that you con-
tact Dr. Fritz Braun at
"Institut für Pfälzische Geschichte
und Volkskunde,
Benzinoring 6
67657 Kaiserslautern
Germany."
They might have records of Palatinates who
emigrated, as also info on the moving of those people to the region of the 'Vorder-
pfalz'!
Good luck,
Klaus Hensel
