Marta-
I believe my father and two brothers came to New York City in 1927 from Poland. They lived half the year in Warsaw, the other half in a small town called Laskachwow (that might be misspelled).
Other family names are Feinsilber and Weislader or Weisladen. I know that members of the family, named Hepner, actually live in Bogata, and there were some in Aruba, but I think they are deceased. I was contacted once by a Weisladen in Costa Rica who is related, but never remained in contact.
There is a small town in Oregon, in the northwest US that is called Heppner. It was founded by Henry Hepner, also Jewish in the late 1800's. I traveled there and got a copy ofa family tree. It is full of Heppners and Hepners, all Jewish - the origins are in an areas which is now in Germany, about 150 miles from Warsaw. It dates back to a Rabbi Abraham Hepner, I believe born in 1759.
Keep in touch, please. ([email protected])
