Yes there are plenty of Herb's here in PA. They were German and most were farmers that settled in the furtile valleys here in PA. Most came to America through the port of Philadelphia and usually settled close to there until they learned the language and started families. Usually the sons migrated from there and began new lives other than farmers. There are also many located in Ohio.
I will try my best to help you, but you do need some help from any living relatives that know any family history. You must have a starting point and work backwords from there. Once you do that, there are many people out there researching the Herb name that would be more than willing to help you. It has taken me over 25 years to get to where I'm at and when I started I didn't even know my grand-fathers name. I now go all the way back to 1700. Keep in touch and don't forget to ask your old aunts and uncles questions.
