Alright, I have to ask. Basically a good part of my family are Hergerts that originated in Neu Donhof(Sp?) Russia. So what's the deal with all the Hergerts on here that similarly come from the Volga region? Are we all related somehow? I'm just a bit confused. I wonder non stop if either we are all related...or maybe Hergert was just a name everyone adopted when they came over since they were all on the same boat (no pun intended). Can someone enlighten me on this subject? I'm aware of the German-Russian colonies, and the history. But it just seems to me that more times than not the last names coinside with 'Hergert'. If anyone has some information, I'd LOVE to hear it.
