Hi Jill, I think we've crossed paths before.
I just started this genealogy thing last
February when I got a computer. I originally
thought that my grgrandmother was the daughter of Lewis Herndon. Since then I have
received a lot more information. Heres what
"I think" I know. My grgrandmother was Mary A.Herndon b.1823-24.She was the daughter of
David Herndon. I have conflicting information
about her mother.Mary was married to David Robinson(Robertson) in Fluvanna co. in 1852. He was first married to Mary Hodges in Goochland County in 1813. He served in the
war of 1812 and I found papers where my
grgrandmother received a pension and bounty
land as a result of that. At the time of
her application a Edward Herndon acted as
a witness to her marriage to David Robinson.
Do you know who David Herndon was married to
in 1823-24?,when Mary was born. I just recently received some information from John
Herndon who says Mary also has a sister Nancy
and an unknown brother his file. He thinks
my Mary is connected to the original Immigrant ancestor William Herndon and Catherine Digges. Anything you could add
to this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for getting in touch. Are you kinfolk?
Happy New Year
