This is of interest to me since Simon Girty is connected to my Myers family in Pittsburgh as well as Caption William Lewis Herndon. You can read about the connection through General William Tecumseh Sherman's published letters from Pittsburgh. For what ever reason, the Myers family according to the letter was very upset on the loss of Caption Herndon whos ship was lost at sea.

Col William H Crawford is also connected. It is my understanding Simon Girty was part of the war party that killed Col Crawford for the killing of Chief John Logan's sister. She was married to Col John Gibson, a close friend of Col Morgan Morgan and the Bryan's
