Thank you Jim for the Surname of CORDER,However in the Book written by Ruth Herndon Shields on the Decendants of William and Sarah ( Poe ) Herndon doesn't mention it,However..Children in Those Days were NOT necessarily Adopted but as Orphans would come into Court and be Given over to a Gaurdian,such as The Foillowing Item in Ruths Book.
The Minutes of The Feb 1778 Term of Court Has this Item.
"David Poe,Orphan of Simon Poe,Dec'd came into Court and made choice of James Massey as his Gardian,who entered into Bond with George Herndon and William Howard in L1000"
