Dawn:
I hold a copy of the 1846 & 1885 Herrick Genealogies. I have the books on a computer database for ease of looking up individuals. I am the administrator of the RootsWeb HERRICK-L & -D mail lists. I am involved in forming a Herrick Family Association, HFA, that will be used as a means of compiling and publishing a 3rd edition of the Herrick Genealogy within the next 3 to 5 years.
I found Abigail HERRICK on page 32 of the 1885 book. She is noted as having m. Nathan LEONARD of Worthington, MA in the book. She had a brother named Phineas, b. Feb. 03, 1730/31 per the 1885 book, but April 03, 1730 in Preston, CT per the Barbour Index, BI. She was the 2nd of 9 children listed in the 1885 book.
I do not find a Jonas LEONARD in either book. I do find three of the name Eunice HERRICK that could possibly be his wife. I based the selection on his d.o.b. of 1757 and his marriage in 1787, [they are the only three possible in the books]. They are:
Eunice HERRICK, b. Sep. 18, 1760, Preston, CT per the BI, d/o Nathan HERRICK & Deborah GATES.
Eunice HERRICK, b. Feb. 09, 1763, Preston, CT per the BI, d/o Isaac HERRICK & Elizabeth HERRICK.
Eunice HERRICK, b. Apr. 20, 1765 Preston, CT per the BI, d/o Elias HERRICK & Mary UNKNOWN.
None of these three females have a spouse per the Herrick books, but they were b. in Preston, CT on the dates shown and are possible wives for Jonas Leonard.
The 1885 book is available online atwww.familytreemaker.com
Relatively yours,
Richard Leon Herrick, Holt, MI USA
