Dear Uta:

I think I am chasing an illusion, but here goes. I have been researching my paternal side of the family -Schaufus- for over 3 years now, and have got no farther than great-great grandfather. However, in searching the SSI I came upon a Richard Herzberg, born 3/11/1880 in Germany whose mother's maiden name was Schaufus. I know that my great grandfather's (August Schaufus) brother (Louis Schaufus)settled in California - both were born in Germany - and this is where Richard is from. However, in all my searches, I have yet to uncover any other siblings. Am hoping maybe this is a lost sister in the Schaufus you have any further info that could help? Thank you for your help.
Sincerely, Lynne Brophy
