Fergus Falls Daily Journal 12/12/1956 - "Attack On Aged S.D. Woman Is Puzzling - Custer, S.D (AP) - Officers here are mystified by an afternoon attack upon a 91-year-old Custer woman who was stabbed and beaten at her home.
No clues or motives have been discovered in the assault upon Mrs. Minnie Herzberg, who was found by her son, Walter, about 2 p.m. Monday.
Stabbed in the neck and bruised about the head, Mrs. Herzberg is in satisfactory condition at Lutheran hospital in Hot Springs. A hospital spokesman described the stab wound in the neck as superficial."
