Great to hear from you. I've come quite a long way since posting this message so what I now have is online here ...
(Make sure you go back a generation, you'll get a photo of Kate's family!)

I actually connect to the SANDS side of the family - Kate Louisa SANDS was sister to my great-grandmother, EDITH GRACE SANDS.

I have no problem at all about sharing what I have with you but I have a slight problem in that there is an entire suitcase full of letters!!! But I plan on going through them all again some time soon, so I'll see what is of most interest!

You may have some answers to a couple of things that have been puzzling me for ages - where was Jesse on the 1901 census??? And where exactly does Philip B MAYERS fit in???

Do you have any photos of Jesse, Kate or other family members? I have a fair number of unidentified photos you may be able to help with.

Last question - have you been in touch with Clive Heselden? His email sporadically bounces but I remember he tied in with the Hastings HESELDENs.

If you want to contact me privately, my email is

Look forward to hearing from you,
