Robert,
Thanks for your reply.I am aware of the Thomas Heslep in PA.I also think that a Thomas Heslep born in NC in 1795 is the father of David Doyle Heslep.David Doyle Heslep was born in AL in 1822.It is not likely that the Thomas you named is his father, but I would be interested in knowing your source.
I just checked ancestry.com today and found that it incorrectly identifies Thomas Heslep and Mary Nettles as the parents of David Doyle Heslep, married to Isabelle Vermelle Brockinton.Thomas and Mary did have a son named D D Heslep, but he is a different person.
I believe that Thomas and Mary Nettles Heslep were the grandparents of David Doyle Heslep, husband of Isabelle.I believe their son, Thomas, married first a Ms Doyle and second Ann B. Bugg, widow of Mr. Mann.I suspect Thomas and his first wife, Ms. Doyle, were the parents of David Doyle Heslep.Unfortunately, I have no sources which connect David to Thomas or Ms. Doyle.
If you have any data concerning the above, or source data to prove a connection to the Thomas identified in your response, I would be interested to hear what it is and to get a copy if possible.
Are you aware of the Heslep website on myfamily.comIt is free, but you need to be invited to participate. If you are interested, I will take care of the invite.I should warn you that there is one price to be paid. You wind up getting some junk mail about fellow members birthdays etc., but it is not anything you can't take care of with the delete key.
Thanks again for your response.
