It's been a couple of years since I looked in on the forum. Your post about Delia has me intrigued. All my queries have dead ended at the turn of the century so I assumed that we came here illegally. That said, here's what I have.
My ggf was Bernard Heslin. We're from NY, specifically Hell's Kitchen back in Grandpa's day. Grandpa was Peter. His sibs incld a Delia. Others were Joe, Barney Loretta, John, Eddy plus 2 more.
Grandpa also had a cousin, Peter back in Hell's Kitchen who met an untimely end in 1926. So, Grt Grandad must have had a brother in the neighborhood.
Elsewhere in this forum you will find a post from Jim Deming re: Heslins and Malones in Lithlinithgow alluding to a Peter Heslin who married in 1849 and started his family in 1856 with children: Barney, Andrew and Catherine.
My theory is that Barney and Andrew emm to NYC and that my grandpa's cousin Peter sprang from Andrew. Your Delia may have come from Andrew's side also. If so, we're related cuz.
