Hi!
Just found your "Hewlett" query for information about a Martin Hewlett b 1754 -Virginia d 1816 Muhlenberg Co. KY.
He was one of 2 Hewlett brothers to marry Moseley daughters of Samuel Moseley & Martha Hodges of Goochland Co. VA.
Martin's father, Thomas Hewlett died in 1759 in Virginia and Court documents listed 6 children as orphans by name.
Isham/Isom and his older brother Marvell Hewlett both left Hopkins County, KY after 1810-1815(?) and relocated to Posey, Saline and finally Williamson Co. IL where Isham died in 1860. Their older 4 brothers served in War of 1812.
I have a 1956 Hewlett family history that traced branch of Missouri Hewletts back to Hopkins Co KY roots and then back to Henry Co. Virginia where 2 other Hewlett brothers died in 1787 and 1821.In my searching, I have found deeds that support residence sites of Martin & Jane Hewlett.
Contact me at [email protected] for names of Martin Hewlett's siblings and his other children.
I was found by another Hewlett descendant of Isham B. Hewlett 2-3 years ago and have garnered some other information about the youngest son of Martin & Jane Moseley Hewlett.
Martin was listed in his Father's estate settlement of County Court as Martin Hewlett and assigned to a Guardian with his siblings.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Jean
