Heyd's from Alsace

My mother's maiden name was Hight. The information passed down is that they came from Alsace prior to the Revolutionary War. The Earliest ancestor is from NJ in 1800. His name was Nicholas and that is about all I know about him. His son's were Jacob, Samuel(g-g-grandfather), Josiah, and Ellison or Allison. Samuel was b. 1803 in NJ.
