My great grandfather was John Heyd and who was originally from Germany. He lived in Southampton with my grandmother Lucy at the beginning of the 1900's - my father Eric was born in 1908 and there were 2 brothers Harry and George. The family name was changed to Heyd-Smith at the outbreak of the 1914-18 war as my grandfather was serving in the Royal Navy. I would be interested in any information on this subject if you have any relevant information that might link to my ancestor.

Regards

George Heyd-Smith
