Heyl- Zweibruecken
I am hoping any one can help me out with the names below:
We think his full name wasFriedrich Karl Heyl but everyone called him Karl.No one remembers whether he actually born inZweibruecken.or in the region, that wascalled "Sickinger Hoehe" which denotes the gently rolling hills.Zweibruecken was the biggest town in that region in the early part of the 1900s.Duringgreat-grandfather's time the region was passed around between the French and the Germans-war and tribute and the like. And the French called Zweibruecken "Deuxpont" meaning the same as the German word, namely, "two bridges. Great-grandfather might have been born under French rule and his birth certificate may very well be in French papers rather than German ones. He was born between 1874-1884 died in 1961
Bubenhausen, Heiligenstraße (-road), in English: road of saints. Bubenhausen is a quarter of Zweibrucken
