Philip Heyne, Carl John Heyne

I am searching for information on the family of my grandfather, Carl John Heyne. What follows is what I do know.

Philip Heyne was born 26 July, 1863 in Roppershein, Germany. He married 30 Nov, 1884 to Anna Werner (b 17 Feb, 1855 in Hamburg). Philip's father was John Heyne and his mother was Margaret Toeppfer. I do not know if Philip and Anna were married in Germany or met later in the USA. Family stories have it that Philip and a brother came to America and traveled along the east coast working as policemen. They then moved west and Philip settled in Braddock, near Pittsburgh, Pa. His brother (no one seems to know the name) continued west, possibly to Chicago, and was never heard from again.

Philip and Anna had the following children: 1.}Hermann Philipp, born 21 Oct, 1885 in Braddock, Pa. He married 23 Feb, 1909 to Catharine Elizabeth Jenkins. 2.} Philip Daniel, born 27 July, 1887 in Braddock. He married 20 August, 1912 to Margaret Elizabeth Robins. He died 2 Nov, 1940. 3.} Henry Carl, born 28 July, 1889 in Braddock. He married Orpha Craig. 4.} Marie Elizabeth, born 23 Mar, 1891 and died 2 June 1893. 5.} Carl John (my grandfather), born 15 Mar, 1892. Married Mary Elizabeth Henry on 1 Oct, 1920. He died 5 Sept, 1946. 6.} John Philip, born 28 Nov 1897 and died 23 Apr, 1898 and finally, 7.} Margaret Anna, born 28 Nov, 1897 and died 8 May 1898.

After Anna died in 1901(?), Philip married Wilhelmina Wuerker, (born 4 Aug, 1868 )in 1905. She died 22 July, 1946.

Carl John and Mary Elizabeth had Carl John Jr., 23 July, 1921 and Anna Mary in either 1922 or 23, I believe. Those deceased are buried at the Old Braddock Cemetery in East Pittsburgh, Pa.

If anything looks familiar, please e-mail. Thank you!

Jan Heyne Greer
