My grandmother, Maria Luiza da Reis, (1880-1952), immigrated with parents, brothers and sisters, to Hawaii, from Sao Miguel, the Azores, in 1881 on board the SS Earl of Dalhousie. One of her brothers, Manuel Reis, was born 1 March 1873, in Calhetas, Ribeira Grande, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. His parents (my greatgrandparents), were Jose dos Reis (aka Jose d'Oliveira Reis) and Ana Luiza. We lost track of Manuel when some of the Reis' immigrated to San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area, ca. 1905.

If you believe we may have a connection, please provide any additional details you may have, and I will respond with more from my side.

Cheers and Mahalo from the Mainland, Duane
