Dear Ann,
We are definately distantly related I have much of the same information that you do on the early family as a matter of fact, we trace our geneology to a common ancester, William Hickam born in 1720, I believe in Belfast, Ulster Co, Ireland and married in Scotland, to a girl name unknown in 1744, I have this information somewhere around here, but like all youngsters, I was in my 20's when I started, I have misplaced it.I can give you some information on a branch of the family that you may not have.I will start with myself and digress as far as I can.Keith E. Hickam born 8/28/65 to Ronald M. Hickam, 7/19/22 and MaeBelle Lucky 2/16/25.My father was the 3rd son in a family of 10 children, (I'm pretty sure I can give you all the dates of birth, marriage, spouses and children of all of my aunts and uncles. My father was born to George McDallas Hickamborn Joplin, Mo 1884 or 1885,
my grandmother was Elsie Isabelle Watson, born in 1887,in Mayfield, Garfield Co, Washington Territory. They were married in Mayfield or Pomeroy, Garfield Co WA in 1909.You forgive my inexactness (sp/) as I'm doing most of this from memory. My grandfather was born to Enos Hickam and Emily Crosland, in Joplin MO, in 1884 or 1885.He had a couple of brothers, that settled in Langley, WA.Which is where my great grandfather Enos Hickam died in 1943.Enos was born as far as I can remember in 1859, in or around Sedalia, MO.to Robert Rollins Hickam and Elisa Jane Copeland, her brother Francis Marion Copeland married Eliza Boone in 1864 or 1865.My great great grandfather, Robert Rollins Hickam was a Civil War veteran and was captured and paroled around 1863, we believe he was confederate. We know that Francis Marion Copeland his brother in law was a Union soldier, so he could have been union also.I have more information around here if I can find it, if not I can more than likely reconstruct it as exactly as possible.Sorry, but it may help some I think, to correspond as I'm really inexperienced at geneology.
Sincerely,
