My name is Dave Hudelson and I'm a seventh-generation descendant of James Huddelston (also seen as Heddleston and Hudelson) and Jane Montgomery, both from then-Cumberland, later Mifflin, presently Juniata County, PA.They removed with their family in 1796 to Bourbon County, KY, thence to Rush and Henry Counties, IN, and from there westward and southwestward.(Many of this line still reside in Orange, Gibson, Rush, Henry and Shelby Counties, IN.)I have a great deal of information about them.
I also have a copy of a legal document filed in P
Mifflin County, PA by a William Huddleston, "Innkeeper," of Macon County, KY and his wife Tamar --- she a widow.(I'm writing this from memory. If you want, I can dig up the document and e-mail it to you.
I inquired if anybody knew of this William Huddleston, because one daughter of the above James Huddleston married a first cousin named William Hudelson, and I wondered if this was the same William seen in Macon County, KY, or if there were two (or more) lines in Mifflin County at the same time, i.e., the late 18th Century. It's a question I still don't know the answer to, but William of Macon County and William son-in-law to James definitely are two different men.
I'll be glad to fill in more details, if you'd like to e-mail me at [email protected]
