The John D. Hiebert family as well as the George Kroeker family attended the North Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. John D. Hiebert was elected minister and leader of this church on January 16, 1905. Apparently he served the church in this capacity until 1912 when the Hieberts moved to Inola, Oklahoma but returned to Enid later.
From 1905 to 1912 the Enid church grew rapidly and a new church building was erected. The new building was dedicatedon Nov. 19, 1911. Rev. Adrian and Rev. John Foth from Kansas conducted the dedication service.
After their retirement the John Hieberts lived in the home of their children, the George Kroekers. Uncle John always enjoyed sharing the scriptures and he was also a good historian and it was his delight to share the history of the German people. (I think this is meant to say Mennonite people)
This was written by Herman Hiebert, nephew of John D. Hiebert.
Perhaps this will help.
