I just saw your posting today. I have the same book re: Johann Hiebert. I also have a copy of the diary that was printed in German and translated to English by a Hiebert relative. It is a copy and a real treasure. My ancestry:
Johann Hiebert b. 1816
Abraham Hiebert b. 1839
Abraham A. Hiebert b. 1868
Salome O. Hiebert b. 1912
James S. Roberts b. 1940 (me)
Someone who has done a massive amount of research on the Hiebert family is Ed Hiebert. E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
In his e-mail to me he said, thats: "red (5) ed (zero)."
You can say that Jim Roberts refered you. Ed has provided a wealth of information on the Hiebert family. Good luck.
jsr (my E-Mail is: email@example.com)
