Hi Valerie. I also have a copy of the diary that you mention; Abraham was my great-grand father. As you know, that diary lists all of the things they brought with them from Russia. One of them was a clock. A couple years ago I discovered that that clock is in the Mennonite Heritage Museum in Goessel. If you are ever in the area I think you would enjoy seeing it, it is quite beautiful - and certainly meaningful, an actual connection to that distant relative. I'm pretty sure the Hugo Hiebert I knew from Hillsboro had sons Russell and Loren and a daughter Shirley. Is that your family?
