My g grandmother was Barbara Hier (HYER) (singular). All I know about her is she is listed, on the family gravestone, as being born in 1840, with no date of death. My grandfather, Augustus WOOD, b. 1844, married her after he came back from the Civil War, in 1866. The only written information
about her is from an article about Augustus. It stated, "In 1866 Mr WOOD
married Miss Barbara HIER, of New York City". Sadly, this is all that I know about her.
