I am also doing research on HYERS. My GGGrandfather, John Hyers, was born in New york, and migrated to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. He was married 2x - outlived both women. He is buried, along with both wives, in Ohio. He had at least 6 children: Orville, Nancy, Lucy, Fred, Charles, Nellie. Orville was from first marriage. Unsure if there are more.
I have been in touch with a gal from NJ whose husband has HIRES blood. Most of those relatives are in NJ, and some migrated to Pennsylvania, and a few to New York.
I do not remember the name of the town in NY where he is supposed to have been born.
Please email me if you are interested in trying to solve the puzzle.
