I can't answer you for sure, but in my branch of the family they have always talked about brothers left behind in Germany. As the family moved serval times here in the states it is quite possible that they did the same in Europe. The best place to start looking would be Wurtenburg, Germany (sp?). That's where they came from so maybe there would be a connection in the town records. Hope that this helps.
